Finally!

At long last!

For almost two months of remaining idle and not have been able to start working, I finally found a company were I would be able to finally start my On-the-Job Training (OJT). I’m so happy today as I started my OJT in a printing press! Legacy Sales and Printing Press is where we in our student publication publish our magazines, newsletter and folio for almost 5 years now, and I never thought that I would end up having my OJT there. Though I have thought about applying there earlier, but because I preferred to work in a company which is related to my course Information Technology, I didn’t apply there at first. Unfortunately, I went to several companies, hoping to be accepted immediately, but then I failed. I even went to Concentrix, a call center company here in Cagayan de Oro City but still they never called me whether I would be accepted o not. ( It’s such a shame I wasn’t accepted thee, I would have been so much interested working there as a call center agent…sigh) then I came to a point where I was so anxious about not having been able to start my OJT yet, and it was already in the middle of December. (Goodness!) I told my close friend about my problem because I was already very sad about my situation, and then she helped me without a doubt. She called Legacy and asked the manager if they accept OJTs at this time. It was already December 23, 2010, and majority of my classmates are almost done with our 180-hour OJT period, while me? I haven’t started yet. So, the following week my friend and I went to Legacy and looked for their manager, and without a doubt, she accepted me immediately!

I was surprised with here immediate decision, but then, I was very very happy to hear that she accepted me immediately. Then she asked when I would want to stat, then I told here, “anytime ma’am!” Then my friend butt in and said “Tomorrow!” immediately. So the manage said hat would be better, and that was fine with me, because the sooner I would start the better!

So today, December 29, 2010, I began my fist day of wok at Legacy, and it was fine… so far. I wasn’t given many tasks today...yet…maybe because I’m new to the company and still have to adjust with the environment as well as with the people around. The first thing that was in my mind when I started working this morning was if ever I would be able to wok with the kind of job elated to my field or not. Then later on, I realized that I would work as one of the layout artists, which I never really expected. (gosh!) Am I going to deal with Adobe Indesigns, Photoshop and Coreldraw?! I’m not that good in Photoshop, and I don’t know much about using InDesigns, and worse…Coreldraw! God please help me!

Well then, whatever job they will be assigning to me in the upcoming days, I am ready to experience and learn all of it as well. I just hope I can do all of it!

Do you know who took this photo?...

None other than...

MYSELF!:D

I took this shot inside my room without needing help from anybody else, I just set the timer of the camera I used then I just pose in front of it, then voila! I never expected it would look good ( isn't it?) and that I would perfectly fit inside the frames of the picture. I feel like a model myself in this picture, and to think I myself took it and not a professorial photographer.

Then, I made some editing with the help of Adobe Photoshop and presto! It's perfect!...hehehe...well, of course, lots of my friends complemented me on this picture in my Profile Pictures in Facebook...(conceited?)...lolz.:)

When Did You Fall in Love With Me?

This song reminds me of someone special and very important to me. Though i haven't found the official video of this music (or maybe there really isn't), I chose to post this one because it's kinda cute since the video displays a slideshow of animated Harry Potter main characters namely Harry, Hermoine and Ron. I love listening to this song over and over again. I love its lyrics, so meaningful. I first listened to this song when I visited the place of that "special someone", and I really think this song perfectly fits how my "special someone" fell for me.:)

Angels and Demons

A holy being with white robes – a friend, a guardian, and a messenger

Never has he failed to help you and save you in all your misfortunate events

God has sent them to protect every living soul in the world

Every action you do, he brings you to what is good and what is right

Looking over every mortal – this haloed, white-winged creature

Singing melodic songs and blowing their trumpets above the skies

Dark he is indeed - very horrifying, extremely wicked, and totally cruel

Every time he brings you into wrong and bad deeds, he laughs so hard

Many people have been deceived by him – this two horned, tailed creature

On every failure, misfortune and tragedy, they are always victorious

No matter how you want do things right, he always devastate them

Summoned by their master, lurking within their fiery lair

The Art of Loneliness

Demi lovato
Don't forget
Don't forget
         The Art of Loneliness

Here I am again, dissolved in this false impression.

Sitting all alone and feeling empty, beneath this one-tree hill,
While my heart sank so low, my mind starts to wander,
Into the sweetest memories of you and I.

I let out a sigh to flush out all this emptiness,
And I glance at the expanse of this breathtaking horizon I see,
Where the clouds seemed innocent and the tree branches wave farewell,
While the wind blows softly and the blood-red sun dies.

All this things only reminded me of the two of us,
Those times when I’ve been your knight-in-shining-armor,
But I know, that no promises we’ve made have been fulfilled,
And now, my soul has been imprisoned in this nothingness.

It seems like I could hear and feel nothing from inside,
Except for the weakening beat of my shattered heart,
And yet again, I see myself at this very place and moment,
Feeling so hopeless, faded, and ashamed.

The pain you’ve left bleeds into my vessel,
As my pride continue to tear me apart,
How long will I be stuck in this silly enchantment?
Like I am bound in such an unknown curse.

But the reality is right in front of me—you were gone,
And I know even time can’t change what has been said and done…
Someday, somehow I will realize you’re not the one,
That my fate has planned for me to share my whole life with.

As I sleep soundly,
Pleasant imaginations,
Play inside my head.

Nightmares

When the darkness creep,
Spooky pictures in my mind,
Haunt me as I sleep.

My First Dahilayan Experience!

Yesterday was perhaps one of the best escapades I ever had in my life!

Me and the members of our university's student publication, The Trailblazer, had our annual mid-year fellowship at one of the best tourist spots in Northern Mindanao - the Dahilayan Adventure Park or simply "Dahilayan". This adventure park is located many kilometers away from Cagayan de Oro City, in Barangay Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich in the pineapple province of Bukidnon. If you and your friends are planning to go there and have some awesome adventure, it is best if you have your own transportation. By the way, Dahilayan Adventure Park features its renowned ziplines which is actually Asia's longest! Aside from that, the adventure park also has other recreational services such as horseback riding, zorbit, and ATV. Moreover, if you just want to have a picnic with friends, no problem. Dahilayan has sloping picnic grounds covered with green, luscious pine trees and a small park for children to play. Also, Cowboy's Grill is located nearby. So back to my experience.

Most of my co-Trailblazer members already met at the city proper, while me along with my two other co-writers from Jasaan decided to wait to be fetched my the van at Puerto. At about 6:30 am, the van arrived and so we started the 1-hour travel to the most exciting Zipzone adventure. Along the way to Bukidnon, we've seen the wide pineapple plantations from both side of the dirt roads we've traveled. Aside from that, the air became crisp and cooler. By the time we were heading near Dahilayan, we can definitely see the scenic view of the Park as well as the ziplines. The view was really breathtaking!

Me standing beside a Alpaca (these Alpacas are not real!).=D

These are (L-R): Carina (our Photojounalist), Nohj (Contributor), Ma'am Maris (our moderator), and Dave (former Editor-in-Chief).

 My co-Trail members!

The playground where children can run and play!

The Trailblazer ready to zip and fly!
 It's a bird! No, it's a plane! No, it's Carina flying!=D

Ma'am Maris and Ariel at the first and shortest zip line.

The luscious, green pine trees surrounding the place.

The Tale of the Three Brothers. lolz

The Trailalahs before we departed from Dahilayan.

Heading home: Me, Kring2x, Angelly and Carina.

It was indeed a memorable experience I had with my Trailblazer family. Now I know how it feels to be like Superman! Everybody enjoyed the whole day of zipping and flying. Not to mention everybody's tummy were oh so fool with such an amazing foodtrip. Wish I could go back again in Dahilayan Adventure Park soon!

A sad love story...

Bittersweet
Drazen A. Evilla

Art was looking outside the window of the car he was riding; a vast stretch of pineapple plantation can be seen as far as his eyes could see. The place he was travelling was so memorable, for it was a romantic place for him. At one moment, those memories he had with someone at the very place quickly came rushing back in his mind…

Art, a city boy, went with his close friend in college at a certain Camp in Bukidnon, where he was invited by his friend in a certain family occasion one summer. It was there that he saw his first love, Jenny, his friend’s cousin. And that was the beginning. Art kept on going back to his friend’s place, where he could have the chance to see Jenny again. For a very short time, Art and Jenny got to know each other more and more. Together, they used to go out to the pineapple plantations to breathe some fresh air and see the splendor of the surrounding mountains. They became close to each other. Until one day, Art felt like he was finally falling in love with Jenny. However, Jenny was already taken, so Art didn’t have the chance to court her. Still, both of them kept in touch through text messages.

A month later, Art learned that Jenny broke up with his boyfriend. At those times, Jenny was feeling so broken, so Art decided to give Jenny her space. Then, once again, school came. Jenny was studying in Malaybalay City while Art in Cagayan de Oro. Art asked Jenny how she was doing their in Malaybalay. Jenny told him she was fine. She also said that she was feeling better already, that she almost got over with what had happened. Art was glad to hear that. Several days passed, when he finally decided to court Jenny, thinking that this might be his chance, although it was through text, since they wouldn’t be getting any chance of seeing each other now that school’s out. Fortunately, after two weeks, Art finally got Jenny’s answer. Art felt like head over heels at the very day that Jenny answered her “Yes” to him. He was so happy. Yet, it was a long-distance relationship, but both of them promised to keep in touch with each other as much as they possibly can.

During their first months their relationship was getting good. Although at some time, they get to be very busy with their studies, they could still manage to follow-up each other’s situation. One day, they called each other through phone, and Jenny asked half-kiddingly, “I supposed you would be looking for someone else their in your school, or have you finally found someone else there?”
Art replied, “Of course I won’t, I promise! Why have you thought about that anyway?”
“Nothing. Of course, there is still that possibility, right?” Jenny said.
“Well, yeah. But I tell you I won’t try looking for someone else, trust me!” Art said with an assurance.
“Okay, I trust in you. I love you!” Jenny said softly.  Art replied, “I love you too.”
“But let’s promise each other Art, that if ever one of us will find someone else, we’ll tell one another, so that no one’s going to be hurt, promise?” Jenny told Art.
“Okay, that’s a promise!” Art finished.

It was at the end of their first semester that they met each other once again, in CDO, and they had their first date, which was quite short since it was actually unplanned. But at least, they got their chance to talk personally, to know how they missed each other so bad, and to know how they were doing with their life in each other’s locations.
After their encounter, another few months had passed, and things were somehow changing fast. It was the first month of a new year. Art continued to text Jenny almost everyday. But he realized that Jenny seldom text him this time. Art thought that maybe she was kind of busy, so he didn’t bother much. Then one time, Jenny texted him that she was a bit busy this time in her projects. Art said that he was starting to get busy with his projects too, and that he’s glad that at least he could still find time to keep in touch. It was his way to remind Jenny that he was making his efforts to connect to her amidst their busy life.

February came. One day Art texted Jenny and asked how she was doing. Jenny replied that she’s fine. Then, it was followed with a message saying, “I’m sorry.” Art asked why she had to be sorry. Jenny said “Nothing…uhmm, maybe for not keeping in touch more often.” But Art said he’d understand, for whatever reason it was. Yet still, Art felt that there was something different with the way Jenny said the words…..I’m sorry.
Until one day, fate twisted everything. Art tried to check on Jenny’s Friendster profile to give her a comment. However, he found out that some of Jenny’s latest comments came from a familiar guy he knew to be Jenny’s ex-boyfriend. Moreover, as he read the personal comments, they meant something different. He called Jenny through the phone later at night, and without any hesitation, he asked, “Are you and your ex-boyfriend back together again?”
Jenny was kind of hesitant to answer. Then, she said impatiently, “I’m so sorry Art...I’m supposed to...”
“You should’ve told me earlier that you wanted to reunite with him…I thought we promised to tell each other if ever we find someone else? And yet in the first place, you were the one who’s suspicious about me having someone else…how could you do that to me?” Art said, with tears slowly falling down his face.
“I’m so sorry….I know I was...” Jenny tried to explain, but Art felt so bad, he ended the call.

All through the night, he spent drowning himself with tears, with a deep cut through his chest, with an excruciating pain. He just couldn’t accept the fact that Jenny had done that kind of thing, when all he ever did was to love, and love her more. Several days later, Art decided to break up with Jenny, but she didn’t want to, she tried to apologize to Art. She said she realized what she had done and that she just broke up again with her ex. After that, they met each other personally, and tried to fix everything. In the end, Art decided to have a cool-off, instead of a break-up, since he is still in love with Jenny. Jenny accepted it. For three months, everyday it had been a feeling of emptiness for Art. After those three cold months, they texted each other again, and decided to end their cool-off. They started to make a new beginning, or at least that was what Art was thinking. Few weeks after, they celebrated their first year anniversary. Nevertheless, it was so simple. They haven’t planned for a date or even just to meet. But of course, they had their regular classes on that day, so it was difficult to see each other. Instead they just talked to each other through phone for more than an hour during the night. Yet somehow, Art was happy they have spent a whole year together. But at the back of his mind, and from what he actually felt inside, he didn’t sense a spark of real happiness that very day and he never really knew why.
Six days after, Art was feeling so happy at the start of his day. He went to class feeling active. It was the end of his class for the day, when his phone beeped and a text message was received. It read...

Gud morning Art. Honestly, I dnt want 2 hurt u, but I want us 2 finally break up. I am so sorry. Goodbye.
Sender: Jenny

And it was as easy and as sudden as it ended. It was the end of everything. Art cannot believe the words he had actually read from his phone. He went home directly, when he was supposed to go out with his friends after school. When he arrived home, he immediately went to his room and lied down, tears beginning to fall from his eyes, and all alone, he cried. So hard that he couldn’t almost breath because of the excruciating pain that’s growing inside his heart. That was the end of Art and Jenny. There’s nothing he could do any more. He doesn’t want to fight. There’s no sense in doing so. For he knows that the one Jenny truly loved was that other guy who came before him. He was the one who lost, he was used, and he must accept it.

***

He snapped back to reality. It had been a memory he still cannot erase in his mind. But of course, as what they say, first love never dies, and maybe it is true. Art realized what he had finally become, after that bittersweet love story he had gone through, he got over from all the torment that love had first set upon him. While he was still looking outside the car’s window, Art realized that he and Jenny never even had the chance to make endearments for each other, for one year of relationship; somehow, he managed to smile. And now, it dawned on him, that he had finally become better and stronger.

Finding and Losing Love
Drazen A. Evilla

Love is not easy to find, even more it’s not easy to lose. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It is the main ingredient that motivates one individual to live. Without love, life is meaningless. Most significantly, it is through love that we will discover the real purpose of why we live in this world. Yet, love is not easy to handle. It is not a game to play, and one should be careful about it. For sometimes, love can be deceiving, if it is not real. Thus, we should really be careful when we fall in love.

Some people find love, and still some more find it unexpectedly. At the moment they were still searching for it, they keep on hoping that one day they will find the person who will make them feel being loved, will make them feel important, and will make them happy all their life. It wouldn’t matter how many years it would take them to find it, as long as when they finally found who they were looking for, it would finally bring color to their lives. My friend once told me, “As long as there is love, there still has hope.” I agreed with those words. As long as you are inspired by love, you can have all the reasons to live! Once we find love, we try to develop it so we will not lose it. We do everything to make the ‘other half’ contented of having us as their partner. We give them our time and efforts to make them feel important. If you don’t give time to that person, then you don’t truly love him/her at all. There is also the concept of infatuation. Infatuation is a foolish and usually extravagant passion or love or admiration. It is temporary and short-lived. That is why some individuals come to realize in the end that they are not happy with their partners at all, thus resulting to a breakup. Therefore, once we found someone whom we admire, we should make sure that it is love that we actually feel and not just an infatuation, so that we can be guaranteed with a lasting relationship. Moreover, there are also some who wait for the right time to love instead of looking for it, because they are afraid to feel the pain that it might brought them, and that it may, in one way or another, affect their lives. But of course, TRUE LOVE WAITS. If you are willing to wait, for sure God will one day reveal to you the person who will love you for the rest of your life!

On the contrary, some people lose their love. In a single moment, everything becomes shattered glass. Love can bring us to the most painful situation in life. It is definitely not easy to lose the love that once had revolved around the lives of two beings. When you lose it, it is possible to bring it back, if what you really feel for each other is true. There are people who turn bitter when they lost the love they had, because for some time in their lives, it gave them the reason to live and to be happy, but when love is no more, for them it’s as if the world had stop turning, and their lives get affected with pain and desolation. However, we should not forget that there are still others whom we could count on in times of bitterness and pain; those people who love and care for us. Unfortunately, too much love can kill you. That is why some people commit suicide because of lost love. They lose the idea that one should not center all their love for one person alone, but with others as well. They forgot that other people loves them too - their family, their friends, and most importantly, God. Losing the one we love is not easy to accept, and it may take us a specific period of time to get over with it. It may take months or even years, for we think that it was everything we have. Nevertheless, it is irrevocable indeed, that love is everything. When we lose the one we love, we should bear in mind that that it is not yet dead end, instead we should keep moving on, for life is offering you thousands of reasons to smile about, and that someday, you would finally love again. Who knows, while you’re walking in a crowded street, maybe you’ll get bump on with the person you’ll be spending you whole life with!

In life, there is a time for us to love and a time to let go of love. We get inspired and motivated when we find love. But then, we get hurt and sometimes turn bitter when we lose love. Perhaps, we should learn to be brave enough to embrace the consequences that we may experience when we are in love. After all, whatever happens, the greatest love of all is the one we need not to look for or be afraid that we will lose; for the greatest love of all is the one we will only recognize, when we look up above!

Tears and Rain

“Tears and Rain”
By Drazen A. Evilla

“It’s amazing how rain symbolizes fearless love. Rain just keeps on falling, not knowing where it would land…yet it still falls.”
-anonymous

It hade been raining for hours. More like a storm than an ordinary rain in the cool early days of December. The cool crisp of the fierce wind entered the window inside the pitch-dark room, bringing in the soft showers of the heavy rain.
Unable to sleep, Jeremy had been awake for several hours already, all alone in his room in the dead of the night. Even worse, he hadn’t been able to sleep for days. He looked at his little table clock on his desk beside his bed. The time is 2:48 am.
Feeling useless lying in bed when his eyes could hardly shut, he turned on the lights of his room and slowly grabbed a small envelope and opened it. A small card was inside. He read the contents once again. It was an invitation card of a wedding of someone he had always known. He then grabbed a small, oval object standing at his desk. It was the photograph of an innocent, sweet girl dressed in pink. He had been keeping it for almost seven years.
And alas, she had been the reason of all the desolation he had felt for the past several days and nights.
Staring at the picture for a thousand times already, tears began to roll from his deep-seated eyes, swollen and tired of expressing the torment he had been feeling from within. Once again, he had been arrested, imprisoned by the pain he had endured which started several years ago and keeps on coming back. He continued to cry in the turbulence of the night. As the rain keeps getting harder and fiercer, so was his agony. As flashes of light coming from the outside strike once in awhile, he cried and cried, until there were no more tears to cry.
Then he felt so weak, not only from his heart but of his entire soul. He let go of the photograph he had been holding, lied down again, then slowly, everything went black.
He was numb. For the first time in several nights, he had slept. In the darkness of his unconsciousness, images of his memory came to play, slowly and slowly. The first thing that molded was that of a boy and a girl sitting side-by-side in a place somewhat like a park. He tried to listen but the voices were too soft, but then turned clear and much louder. Then, he continued to listen…
“I was hoping to give you the sweetest present I could find for your birthday, but…this is only what I’ve got.”
The boy then gave the girl a silver bracelet in which the name of the girl was inscribed, Natalie.
The girl was surprised, and then she suddenly blushed and smiled.
“Oh, you shouldn’t have given this brilliant thing. How sweet of you. Thank you so much!”
They both smiled to each other, the boy so glad for the girl had appreciated his simple gift yet one that comes from the heart. They both stared at each other’s eyes, a spark of bewilderment dominated, and then a silent pause passed for a short moment.
“Yes”, said the girl.
The boy had a wondering face, “Ugh, what do you mean by that?”
“I said yes! From now on, it’s you and me!” the girl replied.
The boy had a wondering face.
Why? Aren’t you happy? That’s what you’ve been waiting for nine months already, right?” the girl said, half grinning.
The guy was still in awe, speechless.
“No. I mean of course, I am happy! Oh so happy! I…I….I just never expected it now. “The boy said with a spark in his eyes
“God, at last…she’s mine. … She’s finally mine!”
Then she stood up and shouted to everyone else around them, not caring what their reactions will be, “Did you hear that guys?!...” the people around have heard clearly enough that the girl told him to stay calm and sit down.
“I love you...so much, I love you!!!” the guy told the girl softly.
“I tell you, I’ll never ever forget this day; this is the day we start our lives together! The most special day of September...” the guy said, displaying such a sincere smile, the smile driven by love.
After that, the scene whirled, faded slowly, and was gone. Subsequently, a transition of somewhat another image formed…
The scene he saw was a place somewhat illuminated with tiny bright lights surrounding courtyard with a gazebo at the center a fountain is nearby. A group of people playing their music was there, with a sweet slow melody playing in the background. It was then clear to him that the place was the most romantic place he had ever been with the girl she had loved so much. There he saw again, the boy and the girl having their dinner in the most romantic yet perfect place for such a pristine feeling.
Just the two of them.
Then after a few moments he saw the boy handing something to the girl which he had been holding behind his back.
“Happy anniversary…,” he said. He handed to the girl a bouquet of pink roses.
“How romantic, thank you so much…happy anniversary…” the girl replied softly. After that, the boy lead the girl into the center of the gazebo, while a new, even more romantic tune played in the background. They gracefully dance with the tune. The warmth and scent of love flying and spreading its wings in their locale.
“I wish we’d be together forever.” The girl said softly. She laid her head on his shoulders while they danced.
“Of course we will, if we’d only fight for each other.” The boy said.
They danced gracefully around the gazebo as if floating on the clouds.
“You know what, if we are going to marry, I’d like that to be on the ninth day of September at nine in the morning,” said the girl.
“It had always seemed to mystify me that I am so fortunate with the number nine. Most of the wonderful things that had happened fall on the ninth date of the calendar. I know it sounds crazy but…I just don’t know what’s with it. Yet I’m certain about one thing, it was one of those days that we started our lives together.” She added.
“Certainly, you’re right about that.” The boy lamented.
Then the scene suddenly disappeared, and once again, a new setting formed. The place was the same place as the first scene, but only two people were there. It was gloomy. A storm is about to come.
“I never expected this to happen.” The voice of the girl spoke. Then he looked around. There he saw the two lovers. He was a few distances away from them.
He could tell that the girl is crying, and the boy started to cry too.
“I’m so sorry, it hurts me so much inside to do this, but finally, I really have to…let’s break up…” the girl said painfully.
The boy was speechless. He didn’t know what to do. He was frozen with what had just happened.
“I’m sorry…goodbye…” the girl whispered and walked away.
The boy was left alone. With the sight of the boy, Jeremy could do nothing about it.
A droplet of water fell from the ground and another followed, until there was plenty of it. It had started to rain.
It was so fast. Alas, it was the end of their story.

At that moment, Jeremy heard a heavy, loud sound from up high and a sudden flash of lightning followed, and then once again he regained his consciousness.
He woke up with a sudden shock. He was back in reality. He looked at the window. Outside, the rain had seized but it was still dark.
It was all but a dream. A dream of the events that have happened to him: of happiness and sadness; of contentment and torment; of a curious play.
He started to cry once again. Then realized what have become of him, broken and all alone, after all these years. His mind went back to what have started between him and Natalie, and once again haunted him of his painful past. Ever since his relationship with Natalie ended, he hadn’t got a straight and smooth relationship with any other girl, for what his heart speaks is the feeling he had for her. He tried to forget her after the break-up, and it took him a long time to recover, at least, from the pain in his heart.
And now, it had been seven years ago. Seven years of loneliness.
Things have changed. So much had changed. It would have been better for him to thought ahead of time if ever that certain situation between the two of them would have happened, had he not drowned too much from his infatuation. Alas, love is unpredictable. It comes and it goes.
One thing was in his mind.
He had to stop something from happening.
Something, which would give him his very last chance. For it was, for him, a matter of life and death. He had finally decided on a certain matter once and for all.
Jeremy dozed off again, without realizing it himself.
His eyes slowly opened, with a blurring vision at first, but subsequently cleared out. He slowly rose from his bed, his pillows wet with tears.
Then, without further cogitating, it suddenly dawned on him.
What time is it? Is it already morning?
He looked at his table clock. It was almost nine o’clock in the morning.
He was going to be late.

14 kilometers away from Jeremy’s, a bride was confidently walking in the center aisle of the church. The wedding was well-decorated, adorned in its pink motif, which is the girl’s favorite color.
Caught up in the feeling between joy and sadness, Natalie looked ahead and saw the boy he would be spending her whole life with.
“I wish you were I made the right decision” she deeply thought as she walked.
The groom had been waiting for her to reach the end of the aisle and take her to the priest.
Jeremy hurried to fix himself, without further hesitation. After several minutes, he was on his way. When he got out of his house, he looked up the sky.
It is going to rain heavy once again.
He walked swiftly and abruptly, almost in a run. He was terribly in a hurry. He waved to get a taxi.
When he finally reached the church, a lot of people were already outside of the entrance of the church and occupying the churchyard, showering flowers and welcoming the newlyweds as they bid their congratulations. Then at the top of the stairway ascending to the church, he saw Natalie, and she saw him too. They were face to face, and the joy of the crowd halted to a silence.
“What are you doing here?” the groom shouted at Jeremy, feeling a sudden anger. Natalie told him to calm down and tried to speak up. She stared carefully into Jeremy’s eyes as she descended slowly the church stairs to Jeremy until they were close to each other, their closest distance apart for seven long years.
She was still silent, while Jeremy tried to read her mind. They were for a split second, in an illusion. But shortly, she was back into herself.
“I’m sorry…..” she calmly said to him, “Your nine minutes left.”
Then Jeremy saw the big, old clock above the church’s entrance door. She was right.
The rain had started to pour down from the gloomy skies once more.
He failed for the very last time.

***

It was freezing cold. The storm was fiercer than the previous rainy days. Lightning clash from the dark sky hear and there. The wind blew harder than before. Sitting on his bed, Jeremy was silent, cold and still, inside his bedroom. Nobody else was around in his apartment, and so the whole room was dark. He doesn’t seem to be himself at all, after he failed from his futile attempt. The lightning continued to flash through his face, but he didn’t respond. He was soaking wet from the rain he had tried to combat just to regain the love he had thought was for him to cherish for the rest of his life. But now, the source of his strength to live each day was gone, it disappeared. He was in vain.
Surprisingly, Jeremy heard a dripping sound. He walked slowly across his room to find where the dripping sound come from. Then, he realized it was coming from the roof, bearing a tiny hole, when he felt the cold raindrops with his palm. He thought for a way to fix it.
Silently, slowly, he went outside his room and searched for some things to fix the problem. After he finally found what he was looking for, he went back to his room. He grabbed a stool and stood on it to fix the hole. After a few minutes, he was done, and the raindrops in his room.
Yet, something occurred to his mind, something serious, something dangerous and baneful in nature. At the very moment, he looked at the things he was holding. Finally, he found the solution to put an end to all his grievances, and only then, could he finally rest from his anguish. But he lacked something. He went again to get the one last thing he’d absolutely need for his plan. He climbed back up the stool. Then he started it.
As if not looking back into the most important things in life he would have lived for, he tacked the things together. He hammered to conceal a large nail above the recess and made a tight loop out of a rope. It was perfect for his intention. For the last time, he recalled his sweetest memories with Natalie that would, at that point, be left as a part of their history. Thereafter, without hesitation and doubt, he slid his head inside the loop, and pushed the stool away, and so he was hanging above the floor. For a short moment, he had difficulty breathing; he was suddenly soaking in sweat. He felt pain. His visions were blurring, until the last breath and pulse of his life.
The lightning swiftly flashed like a camera shot and illuminated the whole space in the nick of time.
At that very moment, no more life can be found inside Jeremy’s room.

He was gone.
